Does anyone know how to get in touch with HRSI in
Elmhurst, IL???? or any other branch???
They have my title on my seaDoo and I need them to sign off
as it has been paid for over three years. I cannot get the title
until they sign a release.
Can anyone help, I do not have those payment statements or
any documentation from them anymore.

Susie, did you ever get into contact with HRSI? I have an issue with a 1st lien on an ATV that wasn't taken off when I paid it off. If you did, can I get the contact info that you used?

Thanks,

Hello everyone,

I am having the same problem with HRSI. They never release themselves from the title. My seaDoo were paid off in 2010 and I have a potential buying; however, they can not register because HRSI is still the lien holder on the title. I tried to contact them by telephone and they no longer exist. I reside in California and I'm in desperate help.
Does anyone know how can I obtain more information or how I can proceed to remove HRSI from the title.
Thank you

I just called 1-800-252-5265 to obtain my title on my Jetski that HRSI never sent me. Capital 1 is affiliated, they have advised me to do the following:

1) fax to 800-695-1772
2) show name, address, phone #
3) Complete VIN#
4) DMV registration, if possible

I gave up on it for a while. Now I just called Capital One last week. They gave me a email so I could try to resolve things that way. Apparently there email does not work. surprising!! I have also read faxed all the information that is supposedly required to get the lien release. At this point I am just waiting to see what happens and will continue to bother them.

So I am in on this game too. Title less (held by HRSI Revolving Funding) Yamaha motorcycle 1999. YIKEs DMV in VA says I have to put it up for Auction for 30 days to go the "abandoned" route.

I am faxing info I have to the number Kaitly has below as recommended by Cap One. Will try to keep site posted of outcome.

Thanks everyone, I faxed to both 800 numbers on here for a 93 bombardier. I have a couple of these title issues going and on the Honda through Honda financing which is definitely the WORSE EVER>>>DON"T EVER USE THEM..... CA DMV says if you can't get it, mail a copy certified so it is signed for. Wait 30 days if nothing back take it in to DMV (if you get it back unopened, don't open it) along with a title bond $100 or so and they will remove the lien holder for you. good luck....my 30 days for this one starts tomorrow

I have the same problem with a 1996 SeaDoo SPX. Want to sell it, but HRSI never released the lien. Sent them a Satisfaction of Lien form to sign and return to their address as listed with the State of Florida when they liened it 20 years ago. Mail just came back markied "Not Deliverable as addressed-unable to forward" The address back then was PO Box 904 in Wood Dale, IL. Does anyone have a correct address for them?

Hi, I live in CA. I sent my lien release to Capital One. They completed the form and returned it with a notice that they purchased HSBC. I went to the DMV to process the lien release, they would not accept it because the registration says HSRI and Capital Ones paperwork does not. I called the number for the Title Specialist with Capital One on the lien release, it is not Capital One's number. This has been a nightmare!!!

I just called 1-800-252-5265 and they gave me the fax # of 1-800-695-1772. You need to request a "Same as" letter. This will explain to DMV that Capital One is the same as HRSI. Also request a lien release letter that shows the lien has been released on the title. You need to send your name, address, phone number, complete VIN and a copy of your sales document, registration or print out from DMV.
I haven't done this yet, but the lady seemed to know what she was talking about, so hoping it works!
Also, she said it takes about 30 days, but after 7-10 business days you can call them & they can have a supervisor check into the status of your request.

I also have a 96 Seadoo GTI I purchased new and need to get the title. I'm almost there with the CA DMV - HRSI liens for PWC are held by HSBC. HSBC sent me the Notice of Lien Release. Auto Club said DMV will not accept it since there is no reference to HRSI. TI did get a copy of a reference to Household Bank FSB which actually took over the HRSI accounts, then HSBC took these over from Household Bank. I have an open call with them to update their notarized document with this HRSI - Household Bank connection (800-962-9705). BTW, those Seadoo's also have a recall for a faulty gastank that could leak and has had explosions... happy days!

I have just been through this mess with HRSI. I won't bore you with the details but the net net is HSBC owns all titles for HRSI. If you send an email to ***@us.hsbc.com with the following they will send you a letter releasing their lien.

To Whom It May Concern,

In (yr) I purchased a Sea Doo and financed it with HRSI. HSBC acquired the assets of HRSI in 2003. I am trying to remove the lien against this vessel and was hoping you could help.

Below is my information:

Name =
Address =
Phone =

Full vehicle description and serial number = yr, make, model, VIN =

I hope this helps!

I did this and it worked out almost perfectly and, not to mention, pretty quickly!

I sent the email to ***@us.hsbc.com and 6 days later I had a lien release from HSBC in my mailbox.

Unfortunately, even after explicitly asking them to include the letters "HRSI" in the lien release, the lien release didn't include anything about HRSI. The state I'm working with on the title (Alaska) requires documentation which ties the two banks together (even though it's a VERY easy Google find).

I feel like I'm kind of back at square one because when I called HSBC, they basically shrugged me off. I asked them for a "same as" letter and they didn't know anything about it (stating they were the same as HRSI).

Any advice?

I just spoke w/ Capitol One. They are the holders of all old HSBC accounts. Fax them a request for title lien release to 800-695-1772. You will need
1. a Cover sheet stating what you need and including your name, address, and phone number.
2. Copies of the registration and anything else you can find such as bill of sale, pay off receipt, old HRSBC account number, etc...
Best wishes

Any advice?
They have sent me the same as letter and it seems like something they print a generic one for everybody. If you email me i can make a scan for you.
Can you send me a copy of the same as letter. Hopefully california DMV will accept this. Thanks, Nick

I did this and it worked out almost perfectly and, not to mention, pretty quickly!
Unfortunately, even after explicitly asking them to include the letters "HRSI" in the lien release, the lien release didn't include anything about HRSI. FYI - i had the same problem with my yamaha atv - but here in WA. I had the notarized letter from HSBC and Capital one, but nothing from HRSI. I went to the FDIC web site and printed off the details (look for bank find) and took that to the DMV - bring a phone with the link so they can look it up if they don't want to. There is a tab, "history" that explains how HRSI became HSBC then closed which was taken over by Capital one. hope this helps someone out there. Federal documentation should suffice for that link. The rest you have to get from Capital one which others have given the links/numbers to. https://research2.fdic.gov/bankfind/detail.html?bank=32921&name=HRSI%2C%20National%20Association&searchName=HRSI%2C%20NATIONAL%20ASSOCIATION&searchFdic=&city=&state=&zip=&address=&searchWithin=&activeFlag=&searchByTradename=false&tabId=2

This is still happening. It took some time but thanks to this thread, I was able to get a title for the bike I purchased back in October. The original owner didn't realize that they hadn't sent her the title release and it was only after I went to the DMV, that I even looked at the front of the title. Needless to say, I paniced. Headed to the DMV today with the Letter from Capitol One (notarzied) and the FDIC History just in case.

It worked for me and took about 9 days from faxing in to receiving letters. I called 800-252-5265 and it was automated and said Yamaha credit card company but I asked for “agent” and got a Capitol One rep. Told him what I needed and he advised to fax a letter to 800-695-1772 and include name, current address, phone number, VIN# and a registration or some dmv printout of vehicle. If new owner also include sales document or bill of sale. Here is basically exactly what I faxed.

Hello, this is a request for a “same as letter” stating Capitol One is the same as HRSI and a “lien release letter”. Name and vehicle info below and a Dmv document to follow. Please send to
Name
Address
City state zip
Phone
VIN #
There is really no reason to call first except to verify this info. Hope it works for you too,
Good day and God Bless
I have gotten in contact with the bank and they are asking me to also provide an account number. I have no number that i can give from HSRI or Capitol one, have you encountered the same problem?
To Whom It May Concern,
In (yr) I purchased a Sea Doo and financed it with HRSI. HSBC acquired the assets of HRSI in 2003. I am trying to remove the lien against this vessel and was hoping you could help.

I hope this helps!
I have received my release and a same as letter from HSBC Thank you very much !!! If you are having trouble try this method!

This exact same thing is happening to me. Did you ever get this straightened out? Any advice? I never had a lien, I paid cash for mine. I know this is an old post but if you get this I would appreciate any help.
