As usual, your advice here is completely off-target and utter garbage.
to follow it.

Tom why would he by a cow if all he may need is gallon of milk?
You never seas to amuse me.
( don't let it bother you ? )
A smart man would inspect connecting ruds and piston ring groves.
Slightly bent connecting rud may work till the end of season, and if rings
push the piston material up and down in the grove then it is only a
question of time before this man will be forced to take a second mortgage.
It is easy to spent some one else's money ha Tom?
Matt do a visual top end inspection, if you see shiny spot between piston
groves on the exhaust side, replace pistons.
Smart tuner can inspect your connecting ruds with out taking engine apart.
And never believe avery thing you see on this NG, it is still infested with
what I call Two Stroke Rapists.
Believe me, piston set is much cheaper then yanking enter engine out and
possibly replacing it.
I say, prevention is always cheaper then repaired work.
Who knows you may not have to replace anything, but you will sleep better
knowing that all is well with your power plant.

The water was brown because you were flushing exhaust byproducts
(technical term - gunk) back through the pipe into the engine by running
the water without the engine running. Don't ever run your ski in the
driveway for 15 minutes on a hose - yes you're cooling the engine but
not the driveline which is normally in the water and thus dissipates the
heat. As to the damage you may or may not have done, it may take time
to show up. You can start the rusting process on bearing surfaces and
it won't show up for several hours of operation. I like to put some
WD-40 into each cylinder after the drying out/running process (not a
lot, about 3 seconds worth) just to help coat and wash the piston
walls/bearings. Don't let it bother you a lot, if it goes, it goes,
there is nothing that can be done at this point and best to just ride
it, enjoy it and if the day comes, buy a shortblock from SBT and replace
